Eric Brown has been practicing law in Alaska since obtaining his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Oregon in 1990. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, in 1987. Eric and his wife Shari both graduated from East Anchorage High School in 1971. With the exception of three years outside of Alaska to attend law school, Eric and Shari have resided in Alaska since 1968.
Eric has a wide variety of legal knowledge and experience. He has extensive experience as a litigator in a number of areas including construction, education, debtor / creditor, landlord / tenant, Alaska Native Law, personal injury, products liability and contract disputes. Eric also has business transaction experience, including sales and lease agreements as well as contract review and drafting.
As a litigator and general practitioner, Eric has gained extensive experience with motion practice, including dispositive motions and complex discovery motions. Eric also has significant experience deposing witnesses, including adult and child fact witnesses and expert witness. Eric is also highly adept at legal research and analysis, and is highly proficient with legal software such as Westlaw and Lexis
Over the years, Eric has represented building contractors, landlords, tenants, personal injury victims, business organizations, including Alaska Native Housing Associations, small business owners, and has assisted with the representation of several school districts. Eric has represented both plaintiffs and defendants over the years and has litigated a number of cases in Anchorage, Fairbanks and rural Alaska. Eric also has experience representing doctors and attorneys in medical and legal malpractice cases and is familiar with insurance defense work, including coverage issue disputes.
Eric strives to ensure that his clients get what they pay for, are kept fully informed at all stages of the process and that their questions and concerns are addressed in a timely fashion.
